Tips for Summer Fun: Read a Good Book

It’s summer! And that means fun vacations, time in the sun, trips to the beach or lake and… boredom?! We get it. Summer can be filled with so many fun things but there may be times you’re searching for things to do!

If you’re already on the hunt, we’ve got you covered! The first idea is dive into the Christy Miller series by Robin Jones Gunn! It is the perfect summer read!

It’s about a girl who spends the summers with her aunt and uncle on the beach in sunny California. The story is full of fun and friendships, a budding love story with a cute surfer, and JESUS! And best of all, there are twelve books in the Christy series followed by 12 books of her friend Sierra, so the story keeps on going!

Robin Jones Gunn is such a great writer, you’ll be hooked from the first chapter! I discovered this series in 7th grade and couldn’t put it down. And with 24 books in the series it will keep you entertained all summer and beyond!

I hope you lay by the pool or dig your toes in the sand and read this series!

Trust me! I definitely was not a reader in middle school, but these are stories you won’t want to end! And when the sadness hits that it’s all over, it’s not! These books can actually “grow” with you! There is also a series of Christy & Todd in college, another series on Christy getting married and her growing family, and a series with her friend Katie (also during her college years)! And I hear rumblings that Robin Jones Gunn wants to turn these stories into a set of movies!
